In these dizzying moments between planes
tiled floors and shaded faces are suddenly portals,
triggering suggestions of foundations mixed and pounded,
transported and poured through time
masked by politics, hidden from sight,
rendering visible only smooth, flat surfaces.
Not resting, but waiting.
Ready to be recognized
...and remembered.
Waiting not to be excavated
but rather appreciated,
honored and shared.
Where once I thought to change
I have become changed.
